Publications : I have given presentations for the DuPage County Bar Association, including one on Drug Asset Forfeitures (Dec 99). In addition, I published an article in the DuPage County Bar Association's "Brief," regarding expungements and explaining the circumstances under which a person can have a particular record of arrest expunged from his or her permanent record.
Additional Information : As an Assistant State's Attorney, I handled thousands of cases, from petty traffic offenses to the most serious felony cases. Having had that invaluable experience as a prosecutor, I am uniquely able to assess a client's chances of success in the local criminal courts.
Additionally, I've had the opportunity to befriend many of my courtroom adversaries as well as courtroom staff. As a result, I am often able to negotiate from a familiar standpoint that typically benefits my clients.
During the course of my 6 years at the State's Attorneys office, I spent approximately ten months working on domestic violence cases, one year exclusively on DUI cases, and the last 14 months handling high-volume drug delivery/trafficking cases. Through these assignments, I became intimately familiar with constitutional issues of search and seizure, and the many bases for the suppression of evidence.
As a trial attorney, I had the benefit of trying hundreds of cases as a prosecutor, and have utilized those skills in hearings and trials for my clients. In addition to having an active trial practice, I train and coach a high school trial team which has been in the Illinois State competition finals for the past three years, and have advised the Loyola law school trial team (1994 - 1998). In this sense, I am an example of a person who not only can successfully try a case, but can teach others with less experience and training how to be effective advocates in a courtroom.

Drug Crimes
Wheaton Drug Crimes Lawyers
Naperville Drug Possession Lawyers · DuPage County Drug Trafficking Attorneys
Assistant State's Attorneys throughout Illinois are under increasing pressure to prosecute narcotics offenses to the fullest extent of the law. Using tactics that range from illegal search and seizure of property to trumped up felony charges of conspiracy or intent to deliver, they often trample on civil rights, while hoping to scare people into accepting a plea agreement.
If you have been charged with a drug crime in Kane County or DuPage County, Illinois, you will be facing a confusing, and often frightening, criminal justice system. Hiring an experienced attorney to navigate the system and help you come out on the other side with the best possible outcome is an important first step.
At the Law Offices of Michelle Moore & Kim DiGiovanni, we know that the criminal charges you face are only a portion of everything you and your family are going through right now. As former state prosecutors with more than 20 combined years of criminal law experience, we have seen too many people get intimidated out of fear for their freedom and worry about their future. By taking a responsive, professional and aggressive approach to helping our clients through their cases, we have earned recognition as the preeminent female criminal defense team in the region.

- Misdemeanor and felony marijuana possession
- Felony cocaine possession with intent to distribute
- Drug cultivation and manufacturing, grow operations and meth lab charges
- School zone violations
- Driving under the influence of narcotics (DUI)
- Prescription drug offenses
- Internet drug offenses
- Minor in possession of an illegal narcotic

Naperville Traffic Ticket Lawyers · DuPage County Speeding Ticket Attorneys
The attorneys at the Law Offices of Michelle Moore & Kim DiGiovanni have years of experience representing drivers who have received traffic tickets or are fighting to have their license reinstated in a secretary of state hearing.
Is fighting your traffic ticket really worth the time and money? The truth is, if this is your first speeding ticket in many years, we will be the first to tell you to pay it. But if you are facing a heavy fine for reckless driving or are facing multiple speeding tickets over the past year, fighting it may be the most cost-effective option. Under the Illinois point system, you could face a suspended driver's license for as few as three tickets in a year. Even one ticket can have a significant impact on your auto insurance rates or your ability to change car insurance companies.
Restoring a Suspended License at the Illinois Secretary of State Hearing
Under Illinois law, drivers who have had their licenses suspended following a DUI arrest or any other reason must apply for reinstatement through the secretary of state's office. The process requires a hearing to prove that you have met all terms and conditions required by the state. For DUI offenses, the hearing is often the first opportunity for your lawyer to challenge the evidence for your arrest. Results of the hearing can be used as the basis of a solid defense in the DUI criminal proceedings.
If you are considering fighting your traffic ticket, or are seeking reinstatement of a suspended license, contact us to arrange a free initial consultation with a Wheaton traffic offenses attorney at our firm today. From our Offices in Wheaton and St. Charles, we represent individuals in traffic ticket defense cases and secretary of state hearings in Kane County and DuPage County, Illinois.
